Why Billiards is Not an Olympic Sport?
Although billiards has a rich history and a global following, it has yet to gain inclusion in the Olympic Games. One major factor is the fragmented governance of the sport, with various disciplines like pool, snooker, and carom each governed by different associations. This lack of unified leadership complicates efforts to meet the International Olympic Committee’s stringent criteria. Additionally, the recreational perception of billiards, often seen as a casual activity, further limits its chances of Olympic recognition.
